From Oct. 15 to 21, 2018, our team will travel along coastal South Carolina soaking up the fragrant, humid air punctuated by sweeping marshlands and lazy rivers. Representative of Deep South states, interviews from the place where the Civil War started will focus on religion, race and poverty in 2018. The team’s travels will include the old South town of Charleston, where nine black members of an historic church were murdered during a 2015 prayer service. Other stops will include the coastal community of Beaufort and in a forgotten area of the state crippled by poverty and the lack of opportunities for most residents
