OCT. 20, 2018 | Lowcountry hospitality greeted the crew at breakfast and at suppertime. In the morning, Bruce Hawker visited with a group of mostly Republican guys who meet every Saturday to talk politics and the news of the world. They were, in two words, not shy about sharing their opinions.
Later in the evening, world-renowned chef Nathalie Dupree and historian husband Jack Bass entertained more than two dozen area residents who joined for a light meal (above) and Australian wine to welcome the crew to Charleston. This crowd, markedly more progressive, also showed little tendency to hold back on their opinions.
Thanks all for a great day of food and camaraderie!
