DAY 14: Politics and happy hour

OCT. 24, 2018  |  Autumn colors filled the University of Minnesota campus as the crew met with a local journalist who covers Washington politics, followed by a happy hour discussion about politics with a group of business people involved in the solar energy industry.

MinnPost‘s Washington correspondent, Sam Brodey, sat down with Bruce Hawker to talk about how Minnesota may impact the national elections at the midterms.  Two GOP House seats, MN-2 and MN-3, may flip from Republican to Democratic, while one longtime Democratic seat, MN-8 in the northeast of the state, may turn Republican.

Later in the day at a happy hour, the crew met with some business people in the commercial solar energy industry who outlined how they were frustrated with politics as usual and complained about the tone-deafness of both major political parties.
